How to use

  1. Choose a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image up to 20 MB and 12 megapixels.
  2. Enter Maximum width and Maximum height in pixels, along with the output format. The image keeps its aspect ratio, fits within those limits, and is not enlarged if already smaller.
  3. Click Resize image. Check the resulting dimensions and preview before using Download image.

How it works

Enlarging an image increases its dimensions, but it cannot recover details that were absent from the original file.

An example

A 1600 × 900 pixel image becomes 800 × 450 pixels when you halve its width and keep its aspect ratio.

Common questions

Why keep the image's aspect ratio?

It preserves the relationship between width and height, preventing objects and people from looking stretched.

Does resizing also reduce the file size in bytes?

An image with fewer pixels usually takes less space, but the final size also depends on the format and compression.
