Discounts & increases
Calculate the final price and the amount of a percentage discount or increase.
How to use
- Choose Discount to reduce the original amount or Increase to raise it.
- Enter the original amount and the operation's percentage. To take 15% off 200, for example, use 200 and 15.
- Click Calculate. Check the final amount and the difference from the original amount shown underneath.
How it works
The result only uses the entered price and percentage; shipping, fees, and coupon rules must be considered separately.
An example
A $200 item with a 15% discount saves $30 and has a final price of $170.
Common questions
Do two 10% discounts equal one 20% discount?
Not when applied consecutively. A $100 price becomes $90 and then $81, for a total discount of 19%.
How do I calculate a price increase?
Add the percentage of the original price to that price. A 15% increase on $200 gives $230.
